Welcome to Troop 730 of the Boy Scouts of America!
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to prepare young men to make ethical choices over their lifetimes, by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Our goal is to offer responsible fun and outdoor adventure, education in citizenship, service and leadership; and to serve our community and families with a quality, values-based program. Our Scouts learn to be well rounded, responsible citizens and capable leaders. Our adult leaders are trained by the BSA, our Troop Committee is enthusiastic and able, and our Charter Organization, St. Mark’s School of Texas, is committed to sustaining our troop. With all of these outstanding attributes, we feel you’ve made the right choice in joining Scouts, and Troop 730. Our Troop’s objectives are to assist boys as they grow into young men: • prepare for lives of responsibility and leadership; • acquire knowledge and develop critical thinking and develop problem-solving skills as part of a team; • become experienced in camping, backpacking, and outdoor skills and practices that preserve nature; and • produce young men who are committed to making a difference in their communities. Our boys are highly motivated and eager to rapidly advance through Scouting. Advancement is a natural outcome of providing boys with settings in which they can develop into young men and future leaders. Our Troop has grown from five boys in 1998 to over 85 Scouts today. The Troop has adopted the St. Mark' School of Texas Code of Conduct, in addition to the enduring principles of the Boy Scouts of America. We stress respect for peers, younger Scouts, and adults. Courtesy, civility, hard work, teamwork, and having fun are all important.
